Wheel of Fortune contestants rarely make headlines for good reasons, but Rufus, who was a contestant on the show earlier this week, achieved an incredibly rare feat.

During a Final Spin round, Rufus called out the letter “T” for the puzzle, which was in the “Event” category. There was only one “T,” so it looked daunting. But in less that three seconds, he got it, guessing “Championship Match.”
Host Pat Sajak was left stunned and Rufus was clearly excited. There’s only one problem though - because of the quick solve, Rufus only won $1,700 from the puzzle. In total, he walked away with $7,000.
At least he didn’t embarrass himself. When the show was in Hawaii (again) in November, contestants Lee and Mitch drove Sajak crazy by guessing that the answer to a puzzle was “Riding a Brown Horse.” Instead, it was “Seeing a Buddy Movie.”
Of course, there have been other awful gaffes on the show in the past. There’s been so many that we did a Top 10 list of them.
