Whoopi Goldberg will star in an ABC comedy pilot called Dolores & Jermaine. However, she should still be able to work on The View.

Delores will be filmed in New York, where the Oscar winner lives and where The View is filmed. According to Deadline, she is still under contract at The View for another year and the new pilot will be filmed around her schedule for the daytime talker.

The new pilot will in the multi-cam format, with comedian Jermaine Fowler as the co-star. He created the series, which is based on his own story. He will play a millennial who has ideas but doesn’t have the drive to see them through. Goldberg will play his estranged grandmother, who he is forced to live with. Danny Chun co-write the script.

As The Hollywood Reporter notes, Goldberg has made several appearances in TV series as of late, but this would be her first full-time TV gig since NBC’s short-lived Whoopi. She recently appeared in Fox’s Glee.

The View is currently in a state of flux, but Goldberg has been the show’s constant. Rosie O’Donnell announced earlier this month that she will be leaving at the end of the current season.
