It’s late at night when Philip finds Paige awake in her room. She’s reading a book on America’s history. She tells her father about her trip with Elizabeth. Paige believes that her parents are activists. Afterwards, Philip goes back to his room to find Elizabeth writing an update on Paige for the center. Philip gets upset at Elizabeth for her trip with Paige. Philip is afraid that Elizabeth is going to tell Paige the truth without him.
Elizabeth is with Hans as they plan how to get to a Eugene Venter. They are targeting a man named Reuben Ncgobo.
Philip buys Pizza to share with the kids but one isn’t hungry and the other isn’t home. Instead, Philip eats with Stan. Stan talks about the new agent, Adderholt, at work who asks too many questions.
Stan is now at work and watches the new agent in Gaad’s office. Stan walks in to listen to the conversation. When Gaad breaks his pen, Adderholt finds out that the pen was bugged. Gaad dismisses both agents. Martha starts to panic and leaves for the bathroom. She rips apart her other recording device and destroys it.
The Agency is being scanned for more bugs and Martha is back at her desk. Since she destroyed the device in her purse she is clean. Martha is then asked for a list of all of Gaad’s visitors to try to find the spy.
Stan’s son comes home to visit and so does Sandra. She wants a divorce.
Philip goes over to Martha who is still a mess from what happened at work. Philip asks for her purse and she says it’s at work. Martha then asks about his apartment. Philip says they can go over tomorrow night but she wants to go tonight.
Philip takes Martha to his apartment or at least an apartment. She wants to live together as a “normal” couple but Philip doesn’t think it’s possible. Martha is still very flustered about early but she tells Philip that’s she’s just sick. He drives her home and is able to go back to Elizabeth later. Elizabeth seems to be sleeping but when Philip gets into bed she pulls him closer to her. She tells him that she should have talked to him about Paige. That’s when Philip finally tells her about his other son in Afghanistan.
The next morning after sending the kids to skill, Philip tells Elizabeth that he believes something is wrong with Martha. He believes Martha is still on the foster kid thing and Philip doesn’t know what to do.
Later, Elizabeth, Philip and Hans find their target Venter. Philip tackles him outside a dinner while Elizabeth and another KGB spy take him into a van.
Home problems and work problems are affecting both the Jennings and Stan. Watch how these characters juggle their secret lives on FX’s “The Americans.”
