Angie Stone, an R&B singer known for songs like “I Wish I Didn’t Miss You” and “No More Rain,” was arrested for assaulting her own daughter on Monday night.
Stone, 53, got into an altercation with her daughter, Diamond, 30, in Dekalb County,, Georgia when Stone reportedly ordered her daughter to clean up and look after her children.
According to TMZ, the fight escalated to a physical exchange, with Diamond claiming her mom hit her with a piece of metal. Her front teeth were knocked out as a result.
Their stories differ in the police report, with Stone saying her daughter retaliated by trying to attack her and Diamond saying she immediately called the police.
Atlanta Journal-Constitution obtained the police report, which states a family friend, Blondy Chisolm, was there and tried to break up the fight. She told police she wasn’t sure who started to get physical first.
Stone was arrested for domestic aggravated assault but was released after being taken into custody and did not get formally charged.
Stone has appeared on R&B Divas: Atlanta and has been nominated for three Grammys.
