Cornerback Byron Maxwell will sign with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday.

According to NFL.com, the deal will be for six years and $60 million, with $25 million guaranteed in the first three years. Maxwell had been telling his Seattle Seahawks teammates that he was going to sign with the Eagles. The Seahawks made a last minute effort to have Maxwell stay, but were unsuccessful. Maxwell can’t agree or sign anything before free agency starts on Tuesday under NFL rules.

"I'm going to Philly," Maxwell said.

Maxwell was drafted by the Seahawks in 2011. He became a starter in the final five games of 2013, where he had four interceptions. Last year he was a starter in every game except for the three games he missed due to injury. He had two interceptions and 12 defended passes last year, according to ESPN. Opposing quarterbacks have averaged an 81.1 passer rating against Maxwell.

The Eagles released cornerback Cary Williams last week. Bradley Fletcher, the Eagles other cornerback, is expected to become an unrestricted free agent.
