Connie Britton said she would love to return to American Horror Story if given the chance.

When asked by an executive TV editor at Variety if she would consider returning to the series, Britton said she would jump at the chance if her schedule allowed it. Britton is currently busy starring in Nashville on ABC.

Britton was a part of the first season of the horror anthology series where she played a woman whose family took up residence in a haunted house. Britton, who starred in Friday Night Lights for five years before appearing on the show, reflected on being initially approached by series creator Ryan Murphy.

“The thing that [ Ryan Murphy] said to me was, ‘You can take my word for it that you will not be doing anything that you’ve been doing for the last five years on this show,'” said Britton. “And that appealed to me a lot.”

The American Horror Story series has always featured women in prominent roles. Jessica Lange, who has starred in each season, recently announced that she would not return for the next one.

The shows's next season, entitled American Horror Story: Hotel, will star pop sensation Lady Gaga and will premiere this October.
