In the pilot episode of CSI: Cyber, we meet special agent Avery Ryan and her team, senior field agent Elijah Mundo, special agent Daniel Grummitz, special agent Brody Nelson and analyst Raven Ramirez. They all work under the supervision of assistant deputy director Simon Sifter.

The team work to try and solve internet related crimes. They receive a case of a kidnapping in Baltimore. The Reynolds' baby was taken from his crib in the middle of the night.

Ryan introduces Nelson, a former criminal hacker, to her team. He got the job so that he can use his hacking abilities for good.

The team head to the crime scene and teams up Nelson with Grummitz, who is upset that he is partnered with the rookie.

Ryan talks to the parents, but the wife gets upset and walks away. She finds out from the father that different voices in different languages were coming from the baby camera. He believes the voices were speaking German, Arabic and Chinese or Japanese.

Outside, Mundo finds that the security wires were cut. He hears video games in the distance and meets they young neighbor who tells him that he heard two people talking last night before hearing a car screech off.

Nelson finds out the make of the camera, Natal Cams, and see that the kidnappers took the memory card.

They pack up all of the Reynolds' electronic devices, but Ryan finds the wife talking on her cell phone. She tells her that it's okay to make some last minute calls and finds that she is hiding something.

Nelson finds malware on the husband's computer. They were keeping a track of the words "Caleb," their baby's name and "baby." The wife's cell phone records show that she has been calling the same number late at night and they believe she is having an affair.

DNA records show that the husband is not Caleb's biological father, and his real father is who the wife has been calling. They track him at a boat company that he works for. There, they find him with a baby, but it isn't Caleb. He explains that someone called him, asking for $75,000 for Caleb and he agreed. He didn't know that the baby wasn't Caleb. He also told Ryan that the sellers were American.

Ryan finds a fingerprint on the baby's diaper, belonging to a woman named Victoria. Through her social media, they find that she is partnered with Ricky and they own a blue Camaro.

They find the two at a bar and arrest them. They don't find Caleb, but Mundo does find a bag of cash in the trunk. Victoria and Ricky get shot and Mundo manages to shoot and kill the man who shot them.

They find the memory card for the camera on Ricky. After listening, Mundo makes out the languages as German, Chinese and Arabic. They believe the voices may be bidding on Caleb.

Sifter talks to Ryan about two more babies going missing and Grummitz heads to Natal Cams headquarters where he finds that their servers have been hacked. Ryan orders him to shut it down.

The kid playing video games earlier gets a video message of the kidnappers demanding the Natal Cams be turned back on. Ryan agrees to do so in 30 minutes and manage to track the kidnappers through the gaming messaging system.

They track the kidnappers to New Jersey. Grummitz finds their computer and Nelson manages to get the password after analyzing the leaders tattoo. They find three GPS locators where the babies must be. They find the car carrying Caleb, but the drivers crash into a lake. Mundo manages to save Caleb with Ryan performing CPR.

Caleb and the other babies are reunited with their families.

Nelson asks Ryan why she chose him. She tells him about a time she was hacked and all of her patients information was stolen, with one later murdered. She wants hackers to use their abilities to help people. She also reveals that she uses her free time to try and find the person responsible.
