Revis Island is on the move again. Darrelle Revis is heading back to the New York Jets, two years and one Super Bowl ring after leaving. The corner took one of the biggest deals of the new current offseason, signing for five years, $70 million.

Revis, 29, spent the 2014 season with the New England Patriots, playing a key role in their road to the victory in Super Bowl XLIX. But on Monday, it became clear that the Patriots would not pick up his $20 million option for a second year, making him a free agent. The Jets then swooped in and picked him up.

According to ESPN, the deal was made just five hours after Revis became a free agent. The deal is front-loaded, with $48 million in the first three years. In the first year, he will be paid $16 million guaranteed, then it climbs to $17 million the next year. For 2017, only $6 million of the $17 million will be guaranteed.

As NJ.com, points out, of that $48 million, $39 million is 100 percent fully guaranteed. That means that he will definitely pocket that money, no matter what happens.

The Jets needed to make a big play this offseason, especially on defense. Their corners only had two interceptions in 2014, which was tied for last in the NFL. Revis had two himself for the Patriots.

Revis played for the Jets from 2007 through 2012, but only played in two games that last season. In 2013, he signed with the Buccaneers for a season, but left that team to join the Patriots for 2014.

Revis confirmed on Twitter that he is coming back to the Jets, writing, “I’m coming home.”
