Kate and Chad received a shock at the DiMera board meeting. Will blackmailed Tori. Paul was set on winning Sonny back. JJ attempted reconcile with Paige. Serena tried switching the elephants. Theresa got Melanie in trouble with Brady and Theresa. Victor let Rafe in on his scheme regarding Clyde. Nicole was worried about Daniel and Jennifer. Jordan left town Chad rescued Abigail from Anne.
Will and Paul had a confrontation over Sonny finding out about their affair. When Paul asked Will to leave, he opened his hotel room door to find Adrienne had overheard everything. She ripped into them both before fleeing the room. Will followed to try to get her to understand, but she wouldn’t hear it. She realized he was with Paul during the time Sonny was stabbed, and she slapped him hard.
Meanwhile, Justin and Lucas got into another fight about Adrienne. They took jabs at each of their floundering marriages before Justin opened up about his wife not talking to him. He also mentioned Sonny didn’t say goodbye to him before leaving for Phoenix, which made Lucas soften his feelings toward him.
John and Marlena went out for a date at the night club, which is now named Edge of the Square. They ran into Paul, who was there with Tori. However, she did everything she could to avoid having them see her. Paul noticed this and accused his mother of purposefully avoiding his friends. She managed to make up for it by thanking Rafe about the kind words he offered her son earlier.
Jordan made her goodbye rounds in Salem as she was preparing for a humanitarian job in New York. She shared a heartfelt goodbye with Rafe as they danced together before the club opened for the night.
Clyde stopped by the DiMera mansion to see Kate as she wasn’t returning his calls. She was still upset with him for accusing her of making trouble between Ben and Chad. However, she cooled off when he gave her a special gift. They decided to go for a walk around Horton Square where they bumped into Jordan. She revealed her job offer as Kate hoped she would never return to Salem. There was no love lost between the two women, but Clyde was stunned she was leaving. Jordan privately warned her step-father if he hurt her brother, she would reveal everything she knew about him.
Chad tried to get Ben and Abigail to believe he wanted to have a clean slate with them, but they didn’t believe him. Back at Ben’s apartment, he decided to cook a special meal for Abigail, and the two shared a romantic moment. At the same time, Kate rattled Chad about Jordan leaving town, making two of his ex-girlfriends wanting to get away from him.
Will returned home and confided in Lucas he wasn’t going to give up on his marriage. Adrienne let it slip to Justin she and Lucas shared a kiss in the park. She justified it by saying they stopped because it was wrong. She turned it around by bringing up his text messages with Elsa.
JJ confided in Jennifer he was doing everything he could to reunite with Paige. Jennifer tried warning her son a number of influences could prevent it from working out i.e. Eve. JJ remained optimistic about taking the risk. Once JJ left, Jennifer called Eve, who agreed not to interfere should JJ and her daughter work things out. She hated it but didn’t want her daughter to find out from Jennifer that she had been sleeping with JJ.
Jennifer later ran into Daniel at the hospital as he sensed she had shift in her attitude from the previous day. She was frantic to help her son, but now she was calm and collected. Meanwhile, Eve had a scratchy encounter with Maggie about the clothing drive that Jennifer was a part of.
Daniel ran into Paige as he gave her advice about not settling for any guy, especially Cole. Later at the student showcase, JJ interrupted Cole and Paige. He made a heartfelt plea for them to get back together as he was still in love with her. She was taken aback as she insisted they were over.
Nicole sought advice from Aiden regarding her love life. He thought she was asking about Eric, but was surprised she was talking about Daniel. He was the first in a long line of people to mention hope of Daniel and Jennifer reconciling, making Nicole furious. She went to Daniel’s office where she overheard him talking on the phone about how much he cared for Jennifer.
Rafe and Maggie discussed their concerns over Victor falling into a deep depression. They thought it was because of Sonny, but Rafe figured out his game. Victor was pretending to be upset about the trucking business as a way to get Clyde too comfortable in his position of power.
Kate gloated with Clyde at the pub about her plans to keep Stefano out of Salem. At the same time, Chad was on the phone to Stefano as they discussed plans to bring her down. Stefano sought help from an unlikely source; Victor.
Stefano called Victor with a bizarre request: he wanted them to combine their efforts to bring down Kate. As soon as he said he would be in his debt, Victor was right on board. He later summoned Kate to his home to inform her of the plan. Kate was grateful as she signed over a large percentage of DiMera profits to Victor for his help.
Abigail and Jennifer were working on the charity project for the hospital when Anne came by to gloat over her higher position. Chad arrived to whisk Anne away for a new project that would take up all of her time. Once she left, Chad tried to cover by saying he was just protecting Jordan’s idea. Abigail saw right through it as she looked at him in a new light.
Eric woke up next to Serena as she was preoccupied over the elephant statue. She was so close to completing her task that she started setting up her exit from Salem. Eric was stunned by the news as they had gotten closer.
Nicole overheard Daniel leave a sweet voicemail for Jennifer and began to see red, making her believe his feelings for his former lover have come back. She fished around Maxine and was relieved when she had nothing to worry about after all. She ran into Daniel and suggested she make dinner for him and Melanie. He was into the idea as he gave her a key to his apartment. The doctor next saw Jennifer, who remained quiet about JJ’s behavior.
Melanie called Nicole and told her she would have to miss dinner, delighting her. She went to his apartment and slipped on a provocative dress. At the same time, Serena slipped into the apartment to switch the elephants, but the women saw each other anyway. Serena was stunned as she dropped both statues.

Serena called Nicole out for her sexy dress as Nicole retreated to put on her coat. She used the diversion to figure out which statue was which. Daniel returned home, so she grabbed one elephant an ran out. Nicole was left to explain her intentions about dinner. Daniel kissed her and made a point of reminding her he didn’t want to be manipulated again. Serena discovered she grabbed the wrong elephant, much to her chagrin.
Brady and Eric met Theresa at the hospital where she ratted out Melanie about her constant snooping of Dr. Mandrake. Eric asked to speak with Melanie alone, and he asked her about Serena. Dr. Mandrake met with Clint to finalize his plans to go back to Salem with orders from Kristen. He gave him photos of Brady and Theresa and told him to finish what he was instructed to do.
Lucas paid Will a visit, while he was busy finding ammunition to push his romantic rival out of town. His father offered his help and was surprised to find a photograph of Tori taken in Salem. Will was taken aback as he recalled Paul saying his family had never been to Salem before his career took off. They got Hope involved as she confirmed the photo was taken in Salem; she was posing by the DiMera boathouse.
Meanwhile, Paul confessed to his mother about the affair he had with Will, claiming he had no idea Will was married nor his husband was Sonny, the man he was in love with. Tori tried to get Paul to back off the notion he and Sonny were getting back together. She would be disappointed if he wrecked someone else’s happiness. Paul later went to Will’s apartment to encounter Lucas, while Will surprised Tori at her hotel room.
Stefano and Chad were excited about the upcoming DiMera board meeting as they were about to kick Kate to the proverbial curb. At the Kiriakis mansion, Kate celebrates with Victor, having no idea of his treachery. She revealed she would also be able to get rid of Chad and finally become sole CEO of DiMera Enterprises. When Chad played on their history, Kate began having second thoughts about the plan. She got it together, ready to eviscerate Chad at the board meeting. Victor chortled in delight, wishing he had a front row seat to the chaos that would ensue at the meeting. Kate and Chad were stunned to discover Stefano would be sitting in for Mr. Shin at the board meeting.
JJ relayed his first attempt of getting back with Paige to Jennifer as she shot him down on the spot. However, he wouldn’t give up, since he was performing at the student showcase. Paige told Eve and Theresa about JJ’s attempt to win her back. Eve was relieved to learn her daughter turned him down. Paige and Theresa went to the student lounge to prepare for the student showcase as Paige was also set to perform. Theresa saw JJ and got in his face about how he lost her niece forever. JJ blurted out his love for Paige as she overheard and was affected by his words.
Will told Tori about the photograph he found of her and accused her of lying about never being in Salem before. She demanded to know what he wanted for his silence, and Will asked her to persuade Paul to leave town. He apologized for resorting to blackmail, but he needed to protect his family.
Paul was encountered by Lucas as he pointed out he was sitting in the home of Will and Sonny. He also introduced the former pitcher to Arianna and made him realize he would be destroying her family if he continued to pursue Sonny. Will returned home, and Lucas informed him of Paul’s visit. He also discovered something else shocking about the photograph of Tori and the DiMera boathouse.
Paul returned to Tori’s hotel room, and he informed his mother he was highly considering leaving Salem again.
