New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years, Candace Fisher, in Los Angeles Wednesday.

Fisher cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, according to TMZ.

On the couple’s wedding anniversary they seemed to still be smitten with one another. Fisher even praised his wife on his Instagram page, which leaves many wondering what could have gone wrong in such little time.

"She has changed the way I view life and what's most important to me. Life would not be the same without my queen. PERIOD!!!" Fisher wrote.

Fisher, 40, and his wife married on Feb. 19, 2005. They have two children together, twins Tatum and Drew. They also each have another child from a previous relationship, The New York Post reports.

Fisher seems to want to settle the divorce fairly. He asked for joint legal and physical custody of the children and wants to spilt the legal costs with Candace, TMZ notes.

"This is a difficult time for me personally. For the sake of our children, I ask that everyone respects our privacy during this process," Fisher said in a statement.
