It was reported earlier this week that Bobbi Kristina Brown’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, will be appearing on an upcoming episode of Dr. Phil, sitting down with the TV doctor to talk about his side of the events the led up to Brown being found unresponsive in her bathtub. However, the reason for the sit-down is actually geared more towards him.

Dr. Phil and Gordon’s mother, Michelle, actually planned an intervention on Gordon for the way he’s handled Bobbi Kristina’s hospitalization as well as grief he's been harboring over Whitney Houston.

It was previously believed he was going on the show to talk about Bobbi Kristina and not getting along with her father, Bobby Brown. He likely thought that, too.

The AP reports Gordon’s mother told Dr. Phil her son is distraught over both Whitney Houston’s death and a similar tragedy that happened to his girlfriend, previously believed to be his wife.

"As we sit here right now, my son's life hangs in the balance. When Whitney was found, he administered CPR to her and called me as he was standing in front of her saying, 'Mom, why couldn't I do it? I couldn't get air into her lungs.’ He won't let go of the guilt,” his mother said.

He’s reportedly been self-medicating with drugs and alcohol. Dr. Phil will offer him treatment for this and other counseling for his grief, including suffering from panic attacks, over Bobbi Kristina and Houston.

The episode will air March 11.
