Last Week on Empire, Anika's deceit is revealed and everyone at Empire struggles to sign new artists as well as keep the ones they already have and stop Beretti from taking control. With all of the pressure going on, Andre stops taking his medication and has a breakdown.
Lucious fails to show up for Andre and he has a flashback of Lucious singing with others. The doctors believe Andre needs some musical therapy. The family tries to uplift him and Cookie calls his bipolar disorder a "white people problem" and blames Rhonda. Andre talks about his first episode and we're brought back to Lucious singing and buying presents for everyone, obviously going a little crazy.
Cookie apologizes for not being there and tells him that Empire becoming an IPO is all because of him but Andre won't talk to anyone, so they leave.
Vernon finds out Lucious wants to marry Cookie again and that he believes family is important, but Vernon criticizes him for talking about family but not seeing Andre. Lucious shuts Vernon out of Empire's success, finding his deal with Andre as a betrayal. Vernon is hurt and it seems as if he's up to something.
Malcolm goes to see Cookie and reveals that he has fallen for her and will be keeping his distance because he doesn't want to betray Lucious who is his boss. Cookie kisses him.
Jamal is recording a song about his daughter Lola. Jamal tells Ryan that he's thinking about taking Lola off of Lucious' hands and raising her himself, but Ryan doesn't think he should.
At the bus stop, Olivia is approached by Reg, her ex, and he tells her he wants her and Lola back, but Olivia is obviously scared of him.
Hakeem is having a photo shoot with Camilla. He's not into it because he's worried about Andre, but she tells him that she wants to make him better.
Rhonda goes to see Andre and tells him to get ready for the IPO, but he doesn't want to go. He tells her that he gave Rhonda the ability to sign for him and he tells her to leave.
Jamal is putting Lola to bed and she tells him she's afraid of a monster. He asks her if she wants to live with him and she says yes.
Lucious gets some meds and goes to Cookie to tell her that she is the head of A&R for Empire. She tells him that he needs to be a better father and wants to present his tribute concert. He tells her that Cookie and he are together again and she is confused. Jamal asks to speak to Lucious and he leaves Cookie to think about what he said.
Vernon is at a club doing drugs when Olivia shows up with Reg and they ask for Olivia.
Jamal tells Lucious that he's going to take Lola with him and Lucious tells him that he doesn't have to and that Lola shouldn't be raised in that kind of lifestyle and Jamal has a flashback of Lucious denying that Andre has a mental illness.
Cookie and Malcolm have some dirty talk on the phone but Lucious interrupts her and tells her about Jamal wanting to be a father. Hakeem shows up with Camilla and they tell them that they have a song for them to hear.
Cookie is cold to Camilla for the rest of the night. Lucious brings in the notary and they get ready to sign the papers. Camilla brings up Hakeem's own musical sound and they play his song.
Lucious talks to Camilla alone in his study. He asks her about ulterior motives and she tells him it's not about the money and he mentions that he said nothing about money. He locks his office door and asks her how much money will make her go away. He tells her he knows she's in debt and wants her away from Hakeem.
Olivia and Reg ask for Lola and Vernon knows that something isn't right about Reg.
Rhonda shows up without Andre and Malcolm shows up too, telling Cookie that Lucious called for him.
Jamal and Hakeem sing Lola to sleep.
Lucious asks Malcolm to take Camilla to the airport. He gives her a check but she tears it up and wishes him a miserable death and to go to hell.
Lucious isn't happy that Rhonda is Andre's proxy, but she tells him off and Cookie smirks as if proud of her. Rhonda finds out that Lucious decreased everyone's share amount so that Cookie could get a share. Jamal comes in asking what's going on and Hakeem asks where Camilla is. Vernon comes in with Olivia and Reg.
Camilla is crying in the car as Malcolm brings her to the airport.
Michelle is singing to Andre.
Lucious asks Vernon why he brought Olivia and Reg there. He notices that Vernon is high on drugs and tells him to go home and leaves.
Andre tells Michelle that music isn't helping her tonight. She tells him to pray with her to see if it helps, but he thought she ws going to kiss him.
Cookie asks about Reg. Lucious tells Hakeem that he sent Camilla away, leading him to believe that she took the money. Cookie looks at Reg's tattoos and sees birds. Jamal finds out that Reg is the one who gives Lola nightmares and Olivia asks Jamal for help. Jamal approaches Reg but he pulls a gun out on him.
Reg tells Jamal that he wants to kill him for impregnating Olivia and is about to shoot when Lucious tells Reg that he is the one who got Olivia pregnant.
Cookie tries to get the gun but he holds it up to Cookie's head. Lucious tries to talk Reg out of it by telling him all of the bad things he's done to his family. Reg loses it and is about to shoot, but Malcolm shows up and kills Reg. Cookie tells her that she wishes Reg would have shot Lucious and Malcolm takes Cookie away, leaving everyone to stare at Lucious who claims to have saved everyone.
Olivia gets ready to leave with Lola and everyone goes to say bye.
Cookie goes to Lucious and he tries to tell her that he wants to be with her but Cookie tells him that everything he touches he destroys and that he just doesn't want to die alone and she leaves.
Cookie goes to Malcolm and asks him to take her somewhere so they can be alone.
Next Week is the two hour season finale and there are even more surprises waiting to be revealed.
