As more details are emerging about a plane crash involving actor Harrison Ford, he is now being credited with saving several lives with his quick thinking during the accident.

As previously reported, the Indiana Jones star was involved in the crash Thursday when his plane went down at a Los Angeles golf course. Now, an eyewitness told NBC News that the 72-year-old actually saved many lives by avoiding a very populated residential area.

"Looking at where he crashed and how the plane went down, I'm sure there was a moment where he said, 'I'm not going to risk lives, whatever happens, happens. It's going to be just me,'" said 47-year-old Eddie Aguglia, who was playing on the golf course at the time of the crash.

"He risked life and limb by putting it down on the golf course instead of trying to go further to try to get back to the airport. Another 25 to 30 yards and ... I don't want to think about it. He saved several lives.”

Charlie Thompson, who is a flight instructor at the same airport where Ford took off from, agreed that the actor was conscious of to avoid such a disaster.

After the crash, Ford was taken to a hospital where his son Ben tweeted that his father was “Battered, but ok!”

So luckily, there were not more serious injuries to report thanks to that quick thinking of his.
