The newest episodes of FX's anthology series Fargo premiere sometime this fall and production began this January. That doesn't mean the creators didn't have some time for some extra last-minute casting, though. Cristin Milioti, best known as The Mother on How I Met Your Mother, joins Fargo season two.

As Deadline reveals, Milioti plays Betsy, wife of State Police Officer Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson) and daughter to Rock Country Sheriff Hank Larsson (Ted Danson). She is described as "a woman of the plains—pretty but firm—she can jump start a car and make a casserole, clean a gun as well as the gutters."

Fargo, much like True Detective and fellow FX series American Horror Story, is an anthology show and—as such—takes place in the same universe as the events in season one but won't feature the same characters or actors. It's also based in the same world as the hit 1996 Coen brothers film that shares its name, although the filmmaking brothers only are involved here as executive producers.

This new ten-episode season takes place in 1979 in Sioux Falls, focused on events mentioned frequently in the first season but never explained in detail. Keith Carradine's character is the only one to be featured in both seasons, but will instead be played by Wilson as mentioned above.

Both Wilson and Danson were announced to star in January. They are joined by Kirsten Dunst and Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons, both of whom signed on in December. Also a character in this season is none other than President Ronald Reagan.

FX has not yet announced when the new season premieres specifically, expect mentioning a Fall 2015 release eminent.

Milioti starred in NBC's new sitcom A to Z this fall, but that show was cancelled not long after its premiere. She next stars in Tuesday's episode of The Mindy Project.
