DCI John Luther is back in action, but he won’t have to deal with Alice Morgan this time. Filming has started on the new Luther two-parter and Ruth Wilson isn’t taking part.

Back in November, BBC America announced that it had ordered a two-part revival of Luther, which technically ended back in 2013. Idris Elba, who won a golden Globe for playing the title character in 2012, has returned and creator Nick Cross wrote the new episodes.

BBC America said on Tuesday that the new cast includes Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones); Laura Haddock (Guardians of the Galaxy); Darren Boyd (Fortitude); John Hefferman (Ripper Street); and Patrick Malahide (The Paradise). Michael Smiley and Dermot Crowley are returning.

However, TheWrap confirmed that Wilson will not be returning. That’s understandable, since she’s starring on Showtime’s The Affair and is still on Broadway in Constellations.

While the BBC works on bringing back the Luther everyone already loves, Fox is developing an American remake. Both Elba and Cross are executive producers.
