Fish Mooney is struggling to climb back to her high-ranking position in Gotham City’s underworld, but it’s looking like she might not make it. Actress Jada Pinkett Smith hinted that she could be done with Gotham.
During an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael this morning, Pinkett Smith said that she was only signed for one season.
Kelly Ripa asked if she was coming back and Pinkett Smith replied, “I don’t think so, I signed for a year and the year’s up.”
“I’m holding out hope because, you never know, Fish Mooney could show up anywhere,” Michael Strahan said, notes TheWrap.
“Yeah, she could show up anywhere,” Pinkett Smith replied. “You never know!”
In the show, Fish is currently not even in Gotham. After Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) managed to push her out of Falcone’s mob and failed in her attempt to usurp Falcone, she was abducted by the Dollmaker (Colm Feore). During this week’s episode, she struck an alliance with the Dollmaker and got a new eye after scooping her old one out.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Warner Bros. TV and Fox haven’t commented on Pinkett Smith’s comments.
Gotham, which tells the story of Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) before Bruce Wayne becomes Batman, airs on Fox on Mondays. It has already been renewed for a second season.
