Jane Lynch was one of the break-out stars of Fox’s Glee. Now that the show is over, she’s already lined up her next gig. She will star in Angel From Hell, a new CBS pilot.
In the project, she will play Amy, a flamboyant character who claims to be Allison’s guardian angel. They become friends, but Allison is left wondering if Amy is a real guardian angel or just crazy.
According to Deadline, the pilot is a CBS TV production and written by Ted Quill (Scrubs). The producers haven’t decided the sitcom format yet.
Lynch is a two-time Emmy winner for her role on Glee and for hosting NBC’s Hollywood Game Night. She previously appeared on CBS as a guest star on Two and a Half Men.
She has been an integral part of Glee since day one. The show’s series finale airs on March 20.
“It hasn't hit me yet,” she told People recently about the show ending. “It's been one of the most wonderful experiences of my life.”
She’s not the only former Glee star to snag a new TV role. Lea Michele will stay with Ryan Murphy for Scream Queens.
