Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons has received his star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame and upon receiving the honor he reflected about the time that he visited Hollywood as a young teenager from Houston and how his career has led him to this point.
“I already enjoyed acting,” said Parsons. "But “there was not some sort of sense of ‘maybe one day.’ It did not even enter my mind.” Now Parsons has stared in The Big Bang Theory on CBS since 2007 and has appeared on Broadway. He also received an Emmy nomination last year for playing Tommy Boatwright, a strong gay activist, in HBO's The Normal Heart.
CBS reported that he was joined by his Big Bang co-stars, Kaley Cuoco and Mayim Bialik.
Parsons opened up about his role on The Big Bang Theory and how he wasn't sure that he would always be an actor growing up, Variety added.
"Why I'm specifically here today, the biggest reason, is because I had the chance to play this incredible character that I neither created nor write for nor put into a series," Parsons explained.
Parsons can next be heard in Home, the animated feature film, which will be released on March 27th.
