Jim Parsons of Big Bang Theory really wants to play The Riddler someday.
While Jim Parsons was on a press tour promoting his new animated film, Home, he was asked by MTV what other potential movie roles would he want to play. He was specifically asked what role in a superhero genre would he want to play.
Parsons, who is famous for his quirky, adorable and neurotically hysterical portrayal of geeky Sheldon Cooper, has an interest in playing a villain.
“I would like to be a villain," Parsons told MTV. "And…I would really like to play The Riddler. I don’t feel they’re using the Riddler very much, are they?”
Parsons is correct with his questioning statement. The Riddler is minimally used today. In the interview, the reporter tells Parsons that he would be excellent to play the role of The Riddler and wouldn't his fans think so as well. Can’t you just picture The Riddler stating Sheldon Cooper’s now-famous “Bazinga?"
On television, the character of The Riddler is currently used on Fox’s Gotham, but the pre-Riddler. Edward Nygma which is the real name of the character is being used on Gotham as he has not become The Riddler yet. In film, Jim Carrey was the most recent actor to tackle the role back in 1995’s Batman Forever. The Batman Arkham video game franchise recently used the character as well. It could be possible that Parsons may get his wish.
His animated film, Home opens March 27.
