Jon Hamm opened up about his recent stint in rehab, which he has just recently completed. It was a surprise that he had spent 30 days in a Connecticut facility without anyone knowing and he now wants to keep it private.

Hamm completed the program just in time for the final season premiere of Mad Men, but it also proved difficult because of all the press he’s doing.

“Life throws a lot at you sometimes and you have to deal with it as much as you can," he told TV Week. "That’s why you have family and friends and co-workers to help you with that.”

Hamm went on to call himself “fortunate” that “throughout the most recent 24 hour period I’ve had a lot of family and friends support me. I guess that’s all I will say about that.”

The actor, who portrays Don Draper on the small screen, has been working on overcoming his addiction to alcohol – which ironically, Draper struggles with, too.

"Obviously there can be a lot of discussion about how much of this is related to that, and honestly I don't have much to say about that either," he said.

He went on to call acting a “difficult endeavor.”

"I understand it constitutes news these days, but it's between me and my family and not something for public consumption," he explained.
