Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love thinks someone other than his teammate LeBron James should be named this year's MVP, and James is fine with that.
During an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Love was asked to choose between James and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook to award the title of Most Valuable Player. Love chose Westbrook because of his incredible season and what he's been able to do without reigning MVP Kevin Durant by his side.
When asked about Love's comments, James told ESPN that he's not too concerned with them. James went on to praise the work of Westbrook and said that he'll leave the voting to the voters.
"I don't really get involved in that," James said. "I think the voters are going to decide who is the MVP. I think what Russ has been doing, his numbers have been pretty crazy keeping those guys afloat in the West in his play."
James also named Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry and Houston Rockets guard James Harden as potential MVP candidates. The comments by Love will likely create more talks about him possibly leaving after the season. Love has had trouble adjusting to his role with the Cavaliers since being traded from Minnesota before the start of the season and has said that he and James aren't close friends.
Whether James is named MVP or not, the Cavaliers are headed to the playoffs with a record of 46-26.
