Free agent safety Louis Delmas is staying in Miami as he has re-signed with the Miami Dolphins on Friday.

Delmas had a one-year deal with the Dolphins last year. His new deal is the same as last year, for one year and worth up to $3.5 million, according to NFL.com. He will be reunited with former teammate Ndamukong Suh, who signed a six-year, $114 million contract with the Dolphins last week, the Associated Press notes. They were teammates from 2010 to 2013 when they both played for the Detroit Lions.

'We're definitely going to have fun,'' Delmas said. ''That's one guy right there that can basically run a whole defense by himself. He has great enthusiasm, great energy to the ball and he's a vicious player when it comes time to get to the ball. He creates havoc when he gets there. I'm definitely excited to be reunited with him.''

Delmas joined the Dolphins last year. He started 13 games before tearing the ACL in his knee in December. In those 13 games he had 61 tackles, one sack, and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown, according to ESPN. It is unknown whether Delmas will be available at the start of training camp, but he said that the knee is great and he’ll be ready for the first game of the season.

The Dolphins also re-signed backup quarterback Matt Moore and running back LaMichael James to one-year deals on Friday.
