June Shannon, also known as Mama June on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, was rushed to the hospital on Friday for pneumonia.
TMZ’s sources say that she struggled getting out of bed that morning and had a 103-degree fever. A family member drove her to the hospital, where doctors said she had pneumonia and was also suffering from extreme dehydration.
Shannon was at the hospital all day. After taking some medication and given shots, doctors told her that she could go home, but had to stay in bed for several days. In the meantime, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson is helping out the family.
Last month, Thompson and her daughter, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, appeared on The Doctors to discuss the 9-year-old’s weight.
The family starred on TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo until the series was cancelled after Shannon reportedly started dating a man who was accused of sexually assaulting one of her other daughters, Anna Cardwell. Cardwell eventually appeared on Dr. Phil, where she spoke out about the situation and accused her mother of withholding money from her.
