If former Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh is taking his talents to South Beach, then Mike Wallace is bringing his skills to the motor city.
The Miami Dolphins have announced a deal that is sending the speedy wide receiver and a seventh-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for a fifth-round selection in this upcoming 2015 NFL Draft, via ESPN's Adam Schefter.
CBS Sports reported that Wallace had been on the trading block for the last three weeks. For the 28-year old speed demon, the trade ends a very disappointing two-year run in Miami.
The Dolphins signed Wallace prior to the 2013 season as a free agent. In 2011 Wallace put up massive numbers with Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh - 72 catches, 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns.
He was unable to top the 1,000 yard mark in each of his two Dolphin seasons.
For Minnesota, Wallace becomes a very nice compliment to youngster Cordarrelle Patterson. Both guys are burners and will be able to stretch the field every Sunday. Second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has to feel confident with Wallace as his number-two guy in 2015.
