Willie Nelson is perhaps just as known for advocacy of marijuana as his country music, so it comes as no surprise he’s launching his own brand of weed as well as opening stores to sell it in the states that have become legal to do so.
The brand is called Willie’s Reserve and it will be available starting next year.
In an interview with Daily Beast, a rep for the company, Michael Bowman, said not only will the stores sell Nelson’s brand, but others’ as well.
“There will be opportunities for other growers, who meet quality standards. Let’s just call it the anti-Walmart model,” he said.
As for as how many stores he’s looking to open, he said “Right now, we’ll focus on the states where legalization has occurred, and as new states open up, those opportunities will present themselves on a state-by-state basis. Or until the feds do something!”
Look out for Willie’s Reserve if you live in Colorado, Washington and Alaska starting in 2016.
