Last year, it was reported that a new doll known as the “Lammily” doll would show how a normal Barbie would look in terms of the average size young women are instead of the stick thin figure of the Barbie we’ve known for generations. Now, there is a new ad showing off the Lammily doll.
As previously reported, when the doll came out in November, the creator, Nickolay Lamm, had created the doll to show kids that “reality is beautiful.” The dolls come with stickers to show blemishes such as acne and other things that make up our bodies, such as scars.
TIME reported that Lamm made the video to show how “’Normal Barbie’ encounters unrealistic beauty expectations, just like in the real world.” In the video, which is set during spring break in the town of Miami, she is invited to go out with her friends and ends up worrying if she is ready for a bikini.
The video also parodies different aspects of society, such as twerking, American Apparel, and others that focus on image and social norms. Not only that, but the Lammily doll can come with stretch marks to show what a woman’s real body would look like.
The doll is now available to be purchased online.
