New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft testified that his former employee, Aaron Hernandez, told him that he was not involved in the killing of Odin Lloyd.
Yahoo! Sports noted that Kraft said Hernandez looked him in the eye and denied his involvement, even stating that he was in a nightclub at the time of the shooting.
"He said he was not involved, that he was innocent," Kraft told the Bristol County Superior Court. "And he hoped that the time of the murder came out because I believe he said he was in a club."
ESPN noted that Kraft was called as a witness by the prosecution and testified for about a half an hour on the subject.
The ex-NFL tight end is accused and charged with murder in the 2013 slaying of Lloyd who was a semi-professional football player and dating the athlete’s fiancée’s sister at the time of his death.
Hernandez's former coach Bill Belichick could also be called as a witness before the prosecution rests.
