Last time on Person of interest, Reese and Finch try and save their new number, a con artist, who stole money from Dominic and The Brotherhood. Reese almost comes to a sort of agreement with Dominic, but instead, Dominic decides that staying out of his way is not an option.

2010: we see Finch and Nathan talking about Alicia Corwin's betrayal. We are also shown Nathan's death and that Alicia may be involved in that. In 2010, we see Finch in a wheelchair hanging up a picture of Alicia. Finch calls Alicia, disguising his vice, and calls her a traitor and murderer and threatens her. After hanging up, he listens to call Alicia makes to special council about someone knowing what she did.

Today: Finch talks to Dr. Edwards about Nathan and his injury. Shane Edwards is a psychiatrist for victims of violent crimes and their new person of interest. Shane's wife was murdered by a delivery man eight years ago.

Finch plants a camera in Shane's office. He later sees him talking with other patients. Reese believes that Shane probably found out some information that may put him in danger, but he leaves Fusco to take care of things while he goes to his own therapy session.

Finch breaks in to Shane's apartment and asks John about why he needed carnitas to neutralize the security system. Becca shows up at Shane's office and asks about Hector. Finch runs into hector, Shane's dog, and uses the carnitas to distract him. Becca invites Shane to go out to a bar but he declines.

Finch finds that Shane has not moved on from his wife's death because her belongings are everywhere. Shane goes to the gym where he plants a gun into someone else's locker and heads to a bank where he plants something into the trash can. He grabs a business card and leaves to go into the service entrance, planting a device on the breaker unit. He then calls a Mr. Barton of After Hours Management, asking him to come down to the bank to settle his account.

Mr. Barton is a man who injured one of his clients. Finch finds more information of Barton at Shane's home. Shane calls the bank teller and tells him that Barton is going to rob the bank. Shane frames Barton for robbing the bank and Finch finds out that this isn't the first time he's done this to someone, making him a vigilante.

They find out that Shane has been doing this ever since the man who murdered his wife got away with a manslaughter charge. He decided to get back at the people who deserve to be put away. They see Shane getting ready for his speech at a gala tonight about his organization. Reese manages to get in, as well as Fusco, through his therapist.

Shane goes up to make his speech about his wife. Morris, the man convicted of killing Shane's wife, was released and showed up at the gala. After Shane's speech, he confronts him and is later escorted out. Shane heads to his car but Reese manages to save him just as the car blows up and asks Shane why Morris wants to kill him.

2010: Finch gets messages from the machine and sees Alicia. He is going to plant a bomb on Alicia's car and the machine is trying to tell him not to do it, but he ignores the incoherent warnings.

Today: Finch and Fusco interview Shane and they talk about Morris. He tells them about the night he found his wife dead and how Morris denied having anything to do with it.

Reese has some unanswered questions about Morris' motives. Finch tells them about Morris meeting with a man named Roscoe but Reese knows it's a code word for a weapon. Fusco finds out that the bomb work was amateurish, not like Morris. Finch also finds that Shane memorized his speech and that he would not have gotten home to see Morris leave, his cell records show he got there hours later. Reese sees that Shane is the one picking up the gun and that he is framing Morris to put him away again.

They believe Shane set up the meeting at the gala with Morris. Finch believes that Morris was framed for Shane's wife death and Fusco disagrees. They see Shane using the tape where Morris grabbed his suit at the gala for Morris' fingerprints. She plants the prints on a bullet for the gun. Just then, Becca shows up to pick up Hector after agreeing to watch him.

Shane goes to Morris' brother's apartment. He breaks in and plants photos of himself to make it look like Morris was following Shane. Reese loses track of Shane and they hurry to find him before it's too late.

They see that he may be at the New York botanical gardens. Since Finch is closest, he heads over there despite Reese warning him of danger. Morris shows up at the gardens where Shane meets him and points a gun at him.

2010: Alicia returns to her car where Finch planted the bomb and locks her in. He's about to go through with it when the pay phone rings again. Alicia admits that she knew nothing about Nathan's death and Finch has a hard time believing her but he eventually lets her go and leaves.

Today: Finch shows up and tries to talk Morris out of it. Morris tries to tell Shane that he did not kill his wife but Shane doesn't believe him. Finch then finds out that Shane intends to kill himself and frame Morris for the murder. Reese shows up but Harold continues to try to talk Shane out of it and it works.

Reese goes back to his therapist. She asks him for information about himself since she got him into the gala. He tells her about not knowing how to grieve the loss of someone he loves.

Shane is back at his office where Becca returns his dog. Finch shuts off the camera and takes Bear out for a walk. He meets with Finch and they talk about keeping an eye on Morris.
