Prosecutors in Suge Knight’s hit-and-run murder case have asked the judge to set his bail at $25 million. He’s been in jail without the option of posting bail since last month on charges of murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run.
Knight has plead not guilty after killing Terry Carter and injuring another man by hitting them with his truck in a restaurant parking lot near the set of Straight Outta Compton.
When a video surfaced of the alleged hit-and-run earlier this month, Knight believed it would help corroborate his claim he was being ambushed and was only trying to escape the scene after a confrontation.
The AP reports prosecutors filed the motion on Thursday, citing previous violent behavior from Knight stemming from ‘90s. If the judge grants the bail, Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Barnes will ask that Knight prove the money came from legal endeavors.
He’s scheduled to return to court on Friday. He was hospitalized twice last month.
