Wide receiver Stevie Johnson is on the move again and this time he has found a home with the San Diego Chargers.
ESPN reported that the free agent signed a three-year deal with the team on Tuesday. Financial terms have not yet been disclosed.
Pro Football Talk noted that after visiting with the New England Patriots as well he ultimately chose the Chargers on Monday night.
Johnson was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 2008 draft and was a productive receiver for the team racking up more than 1,000 yards for each season from 2010 to 2012. He is the only wide receiver in the Bills’ history to accomplish three 1,000 yard seasons. However, he was traded to San Francisco last year and only recorded 435 total yards.
The Niners gave up a fourth-round pick for the 28-year-old.
While his numbers may not be what they once were the Chargers really needed to add another wide out after Eddie Royal left for the Chicago Bears.
Johnson has more than 4,000 receiving yards for his career and 31 touchdowns.
