Entrepreneur Robert Herjavec, known from MSNBC’s Shark Tank, is opening up about his depression after splitting from his wife of 24 years, Diane Plese.

Herjavec opened up to People about contemplating suicide after filing for separation. He thought about jumping off the balcony of his hotel room in Toronto.

“I just wanted to end it,” he said. From there, he reached out for help and his pastor, John McAuley, set him up with Seattle's Union Gospel Mission.

The millionaire then volunteered for two and a half weeks and realized he didn’t have it as bad as the homeless he was helping out.

"It's been a terribly difficult year," he said, adding of his estranged wife. "We were great parents and a great team, but over time we drifted apart."

Herjavec also revealed part of his suffering was their three children weren’t speaking to him. "Everyone has their kryptonite. For me, it was my kids. It took me to a place I never thought I would go," he said.

He’s now a competitor on Dancing with the Stars along with his professional dancing partner, Kym Johnson, which seems like it’s just what the doctor ordered for Herjavec.
