Chuck Lorre and The Big Bang Theory team paid tribute to the late Leonard Nimoy at the end of Thursday night’s episode with a vanity card that featured a picture of the Star Trek actor.

While Nimoy never physically appeared on the show, he was certainly a spiritual star. Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons, frequently talked about Spock and has an obsession with Nimoy. Characters of the show even played “Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock.”

As Entertainment Weekly notes, Nimoy did voice a Spock action figure that Sheldon once dreamed was talking to him.

During the spot usually reserved for Lorre’s musings, they instead showed a picture of Nimoy. A caption at the bottom read, “The impact you had on our show and on our lives is everlasting.”

Nimoy died last week at age 83. He is best known for playing Spock on Star Trek and directed two of the Trek movies, along with Three Men and a Baby.
