Tom Hanks helped out a local Girl Scouts troop in San Francisco, Calif. by not only buying four boxes for himself, but getting them some more customers.

The Forrest Gump star surprised fifth graders Anushka Srinivasan, Claire Chen and Addyson Andrade when they were selling cookies and offered to take a photo with anyone who recognized him if they bought a box of cookies.

One of the girls’ moms told Los Altos Online she didn’t recognize him at first because he was wearing sunglasses and a hat.

“I’m still on cloud nine,” she said. “He was so personable, so down to earth.”

It all started when the girls noticed who he was and ran to catch up with him. When another group recognized him and asked for a picture too, he told them, “Only if you buy cookies from these young ladies.”

E! Online reports on top of buying four boxes, he also donated another $20.

Hanks was out with his son, Truman, who goes to Stanford University.
