James Corden has big shoes to fill when he takes over Craig Ferguson's chair on The Late Late Show Monday. But it looks like he has quite a line-up of guests to adjust him to the new job.
As Deadline reports, Mila Kunis and Tom Hanks appear as guests on Corden's first show. During the rest of the week, meanwhile, Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart and Corden's Into the Woods co-star Chris Pine are also scheduled to appear, with Modest Mouse and Leon Bridges to give musical performances throughout.
Other guests in later episodes include David Beckham, Rob Corddry, Simon Cowell, Courtney Cox, Jon Cryer, Claire Danes, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum, Mark Harmon, Thomas Lennon, Katharine McPhee, Megan Mullally, Matthew Perry, Freida Pinto, Aubrey Plaza, Tig Notaro, Gordon Ramsay and Kerry Washington. These were all announced by CBS on Friday. Additionally musical guests include OK Go, the Ting Tings, Echosmith, Noel Gallagher, Olly Murs, Jessie Ware and George Ezra.
Corden becomes the fourth person to host this late show program, following Tom Snyder, Craig Kilborn and the aforementioned Ferguson. As Variety reports, however, Corden's show is the first time The Late Late Show is owned by CBS, as past versions were under David Letterman's banner Worldwide Pants. Corden was announced as Ferguson's successor officially in September.
CBS plans to have a more digital-friendly late show, with more video clips, video-on-demand, and other emerging platforms to connect to the tech-savvy audiences today.
