The Voice is back and the search is on to find the best vocal talent in America. This season features the return of Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams along with Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

This round of the competition features the knockout rounds, which take place following the battles. At this point, the teams are competing against each other for a spot to advance to the live shows. Two artists from each team will sing separately and it will be up to his/her coach as to who to send forward to the live shows. This round also features the “steal” element. Each coach will have the chance to steal an artist after they are eliminated.

This week features Nate Ruess from Fun. as a mentor for everyone vocalist. He joins Taylor Swift and Chris Martin as one of the few people who served as a mentor to everyone on The Voice.

10. Clinton Washington- Wanted

Impressing with a country song is not an easy task and Clinton Washington representing Team Adam, tried with Hunter Hayes’ “Wanted.” The song felt like Washington trying to be Hayes instead of embracing his own unique vocal range but it is clear that he is talented and with time will really own his craft. Despite this country performance, he did not earn a spot representing Team Adam in the live shows.

9. Caitlin Caporale-Warrior

Caitlin Caporale representing Team Pharrell took on Demi Lovato’s single, “Warrior.” Her performance was powerful and really showed her desire to advance to the playoffs. She had tough competition but was advanced to represent Team Pharrell in the live shows.

8. Hannah Kirby-Higher Love

Hannah Kirby really delivered an intense and powerful vocal performance of “Higher Love” representing Team Pharrell but it wasn’t enough to keep her on his team. Kirby needs to develop more of stage presence but has the vocal talent to go far in this competition, when the chance to steal arrived, Shelton jumped on the chance to have Kirby join his team.

7. Travis Ewing-I Don’t Want To Be

Travis Ewing representing Team Blake, took on the rock heavy “I Don’t Want To Be” by Gavin DeGraw. He had the tone right for this performance but it felt as time as though he was pushing his vocal range to match that of DeGraw. Despite a great effort and an impressive last note, he was eliminated.

6. Corey Kent White-Live Like You Were Dying

Team Blake member, Corey Kent White took on Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying.” The country performance was enough to keep White on Blake’s team and advance him to the live shows.

5. Brian Johnson-Nothing Ever Hurt Like You

Brian Johnson took the stage representing Team Blake and performed “Nothing Ever Hurt Like You,” for his knockout round. The performance was edgy and had just the right flavor of drama. It was clear after that performance that Johnson wasn’t the best fit on Team Blake and he was eliminated but before he could start his goodbye speech, he became a member of Team Adam. This is one of the steals too watch when it comes to the live shows because Johnson is a major threat in this competition.

4. Koryn Hawthorne-Try

Team Christina has a new breakout star in Koryn Hawthrone. She sang “Try” originally performed by Pink!. Her vocal range was impressive and she really delivered an emotional and passionate performance. Despite an incredible performance, Aguilera did not decide to move her forward to the live shows representing her team and Team Pharrell quickly stole this soulful star.

3. Blaze Johnson- You Found Me

Blaze Johnson sang, “You Found Me,” representing Team Adam. This was not an easy song selection; it has long runs and intense emotion behind the lyrics. Johnson gave it a soulful twist and really put his own style into the song while keeping the integrity of the performance. At times Johnson had moments of struggle but it was clear that his heart and passion was in this performance. Despite a great amount of effort, Johnson was eliminated from Team Adam but left behind an incrediable performance.

2. Sawyer Fredericks-Collide

Sawyer Fredericks sang “Collide” representing team Pharrell. He gave a performance that felt natural and gritty and really captured the tone of the song. It was understated but also showed off his vocal range and how he could deliver a performance not only vocally but emotionally as well. Fredericks advanced to the live shows representing Team Pharrell.

1. Meghan Linsey-(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman

During Linsey’s blind audition, the only coach to not turn around was Shelton and it turns out that Linsey and Shelton had worked together and had even been on the same tour in the past. His mistake was quickly corrected as she was stolen and became a member of Team Blake. Her performance was soulful, powerful and absolutely incredible. She earned her spot on Team Blake and advanced to the live shows.
