After four episodes, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt might have left you wondering, when does Kimmy actually do anything? She got her job as Buckley’s baby sitter and started helping out Titus to follow his dreams, but she hasn’t actually done anything for herself other than say weird stuff and get Xanthippe mad at her. But she finally turns a corner in “Kimmy Kisses A Boy!”

At the start of the episode, Kimmy walks by a construction worker, who immediately compliments her on her red shirt. Kimmy responds by complimenting him on his yellow hat, since it’s her favorite color. That reaction surprises the worker, since his disrespectful comments usually get ignored. Now, he’s left wondering why he is so disrespectful towards women.

When Kimmy gets home, she finds Titus jazzercising and quickly learns that nicknaming him “Black” is a bad idea. Cyndee from the bunker is actually coming to New York to visit and Titus is hoping to hear more insane details about their time as Indiana Mole Women.

Kimmy quickly heads to Jacqueline's place, where she meets Charles and they share their first kiss.

Cyndee (Sara Chase) then arrives at the apartment, surprisingly with her boyfriend, Brandon (Brandon Jones). Kimmy actually knows all about Brandon, since she had to pretend to be him for Cyndee in the bunker. When Kimmy and Cyndee start to talk about their new lives, Titus is really disappointed because it turns out that they are only talking about boring stuff.

But Titus quickly finds a new project - proving that Brandon is “small town” gay. Kimmy starts to figure that out, too, but she’s a bit preoccupied since Cyndee dropped a bomb. While Kimmy has tried to keep her Mole Woman status hidden, Cyndee uses it to get whatever she wants back in Indiana.

Titus, who is going through an age crisis, believes that he can seduce Brandon. Initially, it doesn’t work, and Kimmy takes Cyndee and Brandon out. While at dinner, Brandon comes out to Kimmy, but insists that he’s doing it to make Cyndee happy.

Titus tries once again to seduce Brandon without Kimmy and Cyndee around, so he gets Lillian to distract them. It still isn’t working, so Titus is now convinced that he’s too old. “Age doesn’t matter,” Kimmy tells him. “You can die at any time!”

Next, Kimmy is on the phone with Charles, who tells her that he wants to take their relationship to another level. He says he loves her and Kimmy says, “I do too!” When they next meet later in the episode, though, Charles reveals that he butt-dialed her while he was playing a video game. Kimmy’s really disappointed, but it looks like Charles really does like her. He just wants to take it slower.

OK, back to the Brandon/Cyndee issue. The next day, Brandon proposes to Cyndee, with a unicorn as a witness. Kimmy can’t let it happen and tells Cyndee that Brandon is gay. But (shocker) Cyndee knew! She’s not stupid, after all and picked up the signs. However, she still wants to go through with the wedding.

Kimmy is puzzled, but Cyndee gives Kimmy the dose of reality she needed. While Cyndee got everything she said she wanted while in the bunker, Kimmy hasn’t done anything. She stayed in New York, hasn’t tried to get an education and did not travel the world. Kimmy realizes that Cyndee is right, so the first thing she does is try to enroll in eighth grade. Of course, she’s too old, but can still get a GED.

“Look out world, here comes Kimmy!”

Oh, and that construction worker... it turns out that he was gay. Titus walks by him and the construction worker asks Titus out.
