While YouTube has provided us with plenty of weird mash-ups that try to bring Wes Anderson’s quirky world to everything, a new one has outdone them all. This one shows what the world of Marvel’s X-Men would be like if Anderson was in the director's chair.
It’s actually pretty well done, with creator Patrick H. Willems noting in the video that his team had been working on it since October. At the beginning, Iceman receives a letter to attend Charles Xavier’s school, where he is surprised to learn that the school is also a training ground before a battle with a sharp-dressed Magneto.
The jump suits are cool, the fighting is slapstick and there’s even a surprise appearance from the crazy art teacher (Wolverine).
The video is almost as funny as the great SNL sketch that wondered what an Anderson-directed horror film would be like.
