Why did Faith Hill have a neck scar at the Oscars?

While the only obvious change Faith Hill made before the Oscars was her short hairdo, some also noticed that she had a small scar on her neck. A week later, we finally have answers.

A source told People that the Country music superstar had neck surgery to correct damage from an injury she suffered a few years ago. Her rep, Kelly Russell, also confirmed to USA Today that this was the case.

Hill, 47, accompanied her husband, Tim McGraw to the Oscars on Feb. 22 because McGraw was invited to perform “I’m Not Gonna Miss You,” from Glen Campbell...I’ll Be Me. Since Campbell suffers from Alzheimer’s McGraw performed the Oscar-nominated song in his place.

McGraw’s performance was one of the highlights of the show, as he performed the track while sitting on stage alone.

But before the show, the couple had some fun on the red carpet. “She looks pretty hot, huh,” McGraw told ABC’s Lara Spencer during the pre-show. “I married up.”
