My daughter loved our visit. There was so much for her to do and see that kept her interest. She had a passbook that was stamped at the different attractions in the park which she loved collecting.

She also enjoyed the traditional music being played during our lunch. We had a buffet lunch at the Laguna restaurant and the food was excellent, not typical “park” food. They had Mexican specialties but Japanese, Italian, and other international cuisines as well.

Many attractions in Xcaret hinted to the rich culture found in Mexico. We visited a Mexican Cemetery, a Mayan Village, and a traditional Mayan ball game court. One of the most beautiful chapels is right in the park, the Chapel of Guadalupe. We were told many weddings take place there and I could see why. It was just a beautiful building rich in Mexican culture and artwork.

Although we didn’t participate in any water activities due to lack of time (you really need two days at Xcaret park) we were able to visit some of these areas. You can swim with dolphins, interact with sharks, and snorkel and scuba dive for an additional fee. You can also just relax on their beautiful beach.

One of my favorite things we did at Xcaret Park was to see the Xcaret Mexico Espectacular. This show was so well produced and directed that it could have been part of an opening ceremony for the Olympics. This two hour spectacular covered Mexican history and music and dancing. Through special effects it told you what area of Mexico the performances were traditionally from.

My family thoroughly enjoyed Xcaret park and it is definitely a must visit if you are on the Yucatan Peninsula.
