Now that Paige knows the truth about her parents, the Jennings must find a way to show their daughter that they still care no matter who they are. Paige needs some time to warm up to the idea of them being spies but so far it's not going so well. Other than that, the Jennings still have their CIA and Northup missions. Let’s look into the lives of The Americans.

Paige is having a hard time taking in the truth about her parents, therefore, she needs answers. She asks about their lives as spies and doesn’t take any affection from them. Paige doesn’t get a lot of answers but she does get the real names of her parents. Everything goes back to normal, however, when Henry walks in.
Later, Philip and Elizabeth meet up with Gabriel to inform him about Paige. He believes Paige knowing is a good thing. He then asks about Elizabeth’s hotel mission. Elizabeth needs to find a way in using the hotel manager. The last thing Gabriel brings up is another envelope from Elizabeth’s mother. Sadly, her mother isn’t going to be around much longer and this is most likely the last gift from her.
Nina is talking with the Scientist back in Moscow and they talk in Russian. The scientist tells his story to her in English which is now their way to communicate with each other. Nina discovers that the scientist is worried over his son. Alone, Nina sneaks into his room and finds letters to his son named Jacob. At the cafeteria, the scientist talks to Nina about his son some more in English. He is hurt about how his homeland has treated him. She lets slip that she knows his son’s name and he is shocked that she knows.
Elizabeth’s AA sponsor has Elizabeth sit down with her husband. The man wants to help Elizabeth get into Northup for money and he offers clearances to help her.
Martha has to be interviewed yet again over the bug that was found in Agent Gaad’s office. Martha seeks help in Philip as Clark. He gives her tips on how to lie and seem confident. During the interview, Martha is asked about her personal life like her relationships. She manages to lie about her marriage with Philip.
Elizabeth finds Paige hiding in the garage and tries to win her over. She tells her daughter about her childhood and her mother. Paige takes in the story but in the end reveals that she is having trouble believing her own mother.
Philip knows Elizabeth is worried over her mother so to try and help he talks to Gabriel about allowing Elizabeth to go home. Gabriel says it’s not possible to let Elizabeth see her own mother.
Even with her mother on her mind, Elizabeth continues with her hotel mission and is able to copy a key into the hotel.
The next morning, Philip tells Elizabeth that he found a way so she can go back to see her mother. Philip is unable to reveal his plan when Paige comes in the room. Philip tells her that her grandmother is sick and Paige learns that Elizabeth can’t see her own mother. With that, Paige walks out of their room and shuts the door.
Once again, the Jennings’ personal lives are affecting their spy lives. Between their daughter and Elizabeth’s mother, the fake American family has a lot on their plate. Only two episodes remain of The Americans.
