The hit British comedy Absolutely Fabulous is getting the movie treatment. Creator and star Jennifer Saunders confirmed the news Wednesday.
During an appearance on the ITV talk show Loose Women, Saunders said that her series is definitely making another comeback, this time for the big screen.
As Entertainment Weekly points out, the original series ran from 1992 to 1995. Then, there was a two-part finale in 1996, new episodes in 2001-2004 and three TV specials that aired between Christmas 2011 and summer 2012.
“I think I didn’t do it for a while because I just thought, ‘Oh, wouldn’t it be awful if it was awful?’” Saunders told the Loose Women hosts. She also confirmed that every main character and almost everyone else who has been on the show would make appearances.
As for the plot, Saunders only confirmed that there is one, calling that “a miracle.”
Saunders plays Edina on the series with co-star Joanna Lumley as Patsy.
