Alyssa Milano took to Twitter to share her anger with Heathrow Airport officials after security confiscated her breast milk. She did get a response from the London airport, but still wasn’t happy.
The former Mistresses star first tweeted, “Pumping on a plane is difficult. Small FYI.” Then, a few hours later, she tweeted directly at the airport, “@HeathrowAirport just took my pumped breast milk away. 10 ounces. Gone. Not okay.”
Then, she said she was told that she would only be able to bring it through if she had her baby with her. “Why would I need to pump if I had the baby with me????”
Next, she asked, “Why can you test my toiletries to make sure they are safe but you have to throw away my breast milk?” And then, “I was told I would be fine if the baby was with me. Plus, it was less than 5 ounces per container. Why is my shampoo okay?”
Her next message was a bit longer, noting that she would have spread the milk in different containers, but it was taken without any questions. The other liquids she carried was fine, but not the milk.
Since Milano is a celebrity, she got a response from Heathrow rather quickly. “Sorry for any confusion caused. To confirm, if you aren't travelling with your baby, milk is subject to the 100ml/(3.4oz) liquid restriction. If you need further info this, I would encourage you to visit their website,” an airport rep wrote.
Milano is clearly still angry about the situation. She’s continued to retweet media reports about her situation.
Milano and her husband, David Bugliari, welcomed their second child in September.
