Kanye West and Kim Kardashian attended the 2015 Time 100 gala in New York City on Tuesday, so there was bound to be something crazy on the red carpet. Was there a prankster who crashed the party? No, it was just fellow honoree Amy Schumer doing what Amy Schumer does.
As West and Kardashian, who are both on Time’s list of 100 Most Influential People, walked the red carpet, the comedian rushed towards them. She fell to her knees and bowed down to West. He was clearly not enthused by it though, since he takes these things super seriously.
“I saw them and said to my publicist, ‘Can I pretend to fall?’ and she said, ‘I can’t stop you,’” Schumer said after the stunt.
Schumer later told Time that West’s “Blood on the Leaves” is her favorite recent song. Luckily for her, West performed the song at the gala event.
The Inside Amy Schumer star certainly had every reason to be extra happy Tuesday night. Comedy Central renewed her show for a fourth season and the third season started last night. She’s also the star of Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck, which hits theaters on July 17.
