Ariana Grande and Big Sean have split after about eight months of dating, their reps have confirmed on Monday.
In a joint statement, the “Best Mistake” collaborators' reps said, “They both care deeply for each other and remain close friends. We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time."
They were first linked in August 2014 after Big Sean called off his six-month engagement to Naya Rivera. She had also just split from her boyfriend, Jai Brooks. They didn’t confirm their relationship until October.
Sources close to the couple told Us Weekly that there’s no animosity behind the split and they simply broke up because of their hectic tour schedules.
“They made the decision to part ways because their conflicting touring schedules would keep them apart over the next year,” an insider said, adding they actually split a couple weeks back.
Grande and Big Sean haven’t been too public with their romance, despite posting PDA photos on Instagram, but the rapper did call her "very, very special” during an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. “She's very special to me,” he added.
