Avril Lavigne has finally revealed her mystery illness, revealing she was diagnosed with Lyme disease last year and was bed-ridden for months.

Back in December, the 30-year-old singer told a fan she was “having some health issues” but did not elaborate.

She’s now ready to open up about her diagnosis and what she went through, saying she feels “80 percent” better now. She also referred to it as a "wake-up call."

Lavigne told People, "I was bedridden for five months."

Her mom moved into her Ontario, Canada home to care for her while her husband, Chad Kroeger, was on tour with his band Nickelback.

"There were definitely times I couldn't shower for a full week because I could barely stand," she said. "It felt like having all your life sucked out of you."

Lavigne revealed just how severe the symptoms were, explaining “I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk and I couldn't move. I thought I was dying."

Since she's feel better, her new single "Fly" will be released this month.
