B.B. King has been hospitalized for dehydration related to his Type II diabetes, his daughter Claudette has confirmed.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and legendary blues musician’s daughter told Los Angeles Times that he’s now doing “much better."

King, 89, who sang “Sweet Home Alabama” with President Obama at a White House event in 2012, was diagnosed with diabetes over 20 years ago and this isn’t the first time he’s been rushed to the hospital due to symptoms of dehydration and exhaustion.

In October he was forced to cancel the rest of his tour when he became sick during a performance, which resulted in eight performances canceled.

His website informed fans at the time, “[King] was immediately evaluated by a doctor and diagnosed with dehydration and suffering from exhaustion whereby causing the eight remaining shows of his current tour to be cancelled.”

Rolling Stone notes he’s spent over six decades on the road, but has been cutting back this past year.
