Jeremy Jackson, an actor famous for his role on Baywatch, was arrested Saturday in Westlake, California for allegedly stabbing a man. However, he claims it was self-defense.

The Los Angeles Police Department told E! News that police responded to a call that someone was stabbed on Friday. The victim, who has not been identified, had a stab wound to his upper left torso and was taken to the hospital.

By the time police arrived, the attacker was gone. The victim identified his attacker as “Hobie,” referring to Jackson’s Baywatch character.

On Saturday, police were told of a possible “prowler” in the same area as the stabbing. Police found that person to be Jackson and arrested him. He was booked at 9:30 p.m. Saturday and he posted $30,000 bail. He was charged with stabbing and fleeing the scene.

Jackson spoke with TMZ on Monday, claiming that he was acting in self-defense. He told the site that he rented an apartment using Airbnb to throw a party with women. During the party, a man arrived and stole $2,000 from him.

One of the women told Jackson that she knew another man who could help him get his cash back. That man arrived later and also tried to rob Jackson, the actor claims. He said that this man also took out a gun, so Jackson pulled out his knife. He stabbed the man, who dropped his gun and ran.

Jackson said that the man was a “Canoga park gangbanger” who had a clown face tattoo.

On Saturday, Jackson went back to the apartment to get his sunglasses, which is why police found him there.

Jackson has struggled with drug addiction and was on Celebrity Rehab in 2011. He recently did a season of Celebrity Big Brother.
