Just moments after Bruce Jenner told ABC News’ Diane Sawyer that he is a woman, E! announced that it will air an eight-episode documentary series about his life.

The series is currently untitled and will be produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, which also works on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and has produced other LGBT stories in the past. Jenner will be an executive producer, along with Bunim/Murray’s Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins, Farnaz Farjam and Andrea Metz.

Each episode will run an hour and the series starts on Sunday, July 26 at 9 p.m. on E! and E!’s international channels.

“Bruce is incredibly courageous and an inspiration, and we are proud to be entrusted with this deeply personal and important story,” Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development for E!, said in a statement. “This series will present an unfiltered look as Bruce boldly steps into uncharted territory and is true to himself for the first time.”

The producers also contacted several consultants for the show, including Jennifer Finney Boylan, the Anna Quindlen Writer in Residence and Professor of English at Barnard College of Columbia University and the national co-chair of the board of directors for GLAAD; Dr. Marie Keller of the Los Angeles Gender Center; and Susan P. Landon, the director of Child and Adolescent Services at the Los Angeles Gender Center.

During Jenner’s ABC News interview on Friday night, he told Sawyer that, “For all intents and purposes, I’m a woman.” He added, “People look at me differently. They see you as this macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in life -- it is part of me. That female side is part of me. That’s who I am.”

The news about the series was expected, as there were rumors about it before the Sawyer interview aired. E! is also the home of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and the spin-off shows.
