Revolution may have been cancelled by NBC nearly a year ago, but the short-lived J.J. Abrams and Jon Favreau production still has its loyal fans. While the show isn’t being revived by the network, fans will get some closure for the storyline thanks to a DC Comics digital comic book.
The comics will first be posted on ComicBook.com, beginning on May 4. David Reed and Ryan Parrott, who both wrote on the series, will be writing the four-chapter comic with Angel Hernandez doing the art. (You can check out some of his character sketches here.)
A week after each comic is posted at ComicBook.com, they will be posted on the show’s Facebook page. DC hasn’t said if they will collect the four chapters to publish a print edition yet.
In a Facebook post, the show’s creator, Eric Kripke, thanked fans for supporting the show and telling them that their efforts to save the show have been heard.
“The loyalty you’ve shown Revolution these past months has been touching and overwhelming—it’s meant more to me than you’ll ever know. And in case you were wondering—yes, we’ve been listening,” Kripke wrote.
Revolution ran on NBC for two seasons before it was cancelled in May 2014. The post-apocalyptic series starred Billy Burke, Giancarlo Esposito, Tracy Spiridakos, Elizabeth Mitchell and Zak Orth.
Dear Revolutionaries, Patriots, and Soldiers of the Monroe Militia,So first of all—thank you. Seriously. Sincerely....
