Kevin Hart, Pharrell Williams, Big Sean, Usher, Anthony Anderson, Chris Paul and Toni Braxton all donated to help create $500,000 in scholarships to 20 deserving students. These celebrities teamed up with the United Negro College Fund to help students who are currently getting their college degrees.

AP reported that Anderson was one of the major organizers behind the fundraising. He remembered having finical troubles as he was trying to go to school.

"My parents couldn't afford sending me to school, so I understand firsthand," said Anderson. The actor and comedian went to Howard and was the recipient of a partial scholarship that helped him complete his education.

"We have brilliant minds in the ghetto and inner city, but we're not always afforded the opportunity to let those brilliant minds flourish," Anderson continued, "With the UNCF, that's what we are allowing them to do."

Anderson will be hosting the 36th annual An Evening of Stars, which will air on BET on Sunday, which will feature a variety of stars, including a performance by Big Sean. Anderson has been keeping a busy schedule, he recently attended the White House Correspondents dinner.
